The Classic Scone

Parent & Child Workshop
"A scone with tea at half-past three Makes the world a little brighter; It helps the heavy heart to heal And makes the spirit lighter." - Pam Brown

Some traditions endure for a reason- and a proper scone is one of them. Tender, crumbly, and endlessly versatile, scones have been the centerpiece of breakfast tables and afternoon gatherings for generations.

A close cousin to the traditional bannock, these treats are surprisingly simple to master once you know the secret to a light touch. Whether served warm with jam and clotted cream or paired with a sharp cheddar, they are the ultimate comfort bake.

This workshop invites parents and children to step into the kitchen together to bake from scratch, learning the gentle techniques that produce light, golden results every time.
The Experience

Join Babette in her dedicated bread studio for a Sunday morning of relaxed, joyful baking. Working side by side, you’ll mix the dough, cut perfect rounds, and bake them to golden perfection.

The reward? Tasting them straight from the oven, slathered in butter, preserves, and cream.

You’ll head home with a dozen freshly baked scones per child, for your table - assuming they don't mysteriously disappear on the car ride home.

This is straightforward baking done properly. Perfect for families who value tradition, quality, and a little flour-dusted fun.
